Adolescent dogs ready for the varsity line up are a great choice for many of our clients. These dogs cost less than a fully trained protection dog but they already have the foundational training and socialization necessary to prepare them for the completion of their full training as they mature.
They are talented dogs who were selected as pups to enter our European training program and they are progressing nicely. They are teenagers and have the desire and boldness to work but they are still somewhat puppyish, like a talented teenage athlete who needs to mature and train more to reach the big leagues. Adolescent dogs average 10 months to a year but individuals may vary by a couple of months depending on their current progress.

- Adolescent dogs are old enough to do most of the orthopedic and genetic health testing required of adult dogs whereas puppies are too young for conclusive testing

- If you need a ready to go, turn key protector, the fully trained dog is the correct choice.
- If you travel a lot for business and need a dog that is fully equipped to stay at home with your family or travel with you anywhere, then we recommend a fully trained adult
- We choose the cream of the crop of adolescent dogs. There will be variations in how they finally turn out as they evolve. Ongoing training and attention paid to adolescent development is critical for maximum results. - Teenager dogs are like teenage humans (but easier), prone to bouts of disobedience and rough play. It will be part of your job to blend the bonding and play with respect and obedience. This stage lasts a few months and we will guide you with this transition.
